Mufon’s Investigation Of Lost Time & Ufo’s In Cape Fear River, North Carolina
Recently, on The Heavy Stuff’s (THS) daily webpage on Squidoo we ran a link about a TV show that MUFON had done on a recent Ufo case in 2007. The link carried 4 - 10 minute YouTube segments and recounted an amazing experience for 5 men who were fishing on the river bank itself. Mufon’s investigation included speaking with all five men, and re-creating animations of what they said they saw - and - the show and investigation also included a `lie-detector test’ and its results. A link will be provided at the end of this post for you to check the video segments yourself.
Since THS knows that seldom do folks have 44 minutes to spend listening to 5 `backwoods guys’ tell a tale of high strangeness - here’ a summary of what the investigation show revealed: First; largely, the story is about what mainly happened to one gentleman named Mr. Bledsoe - indeed, most of the high strangeness centered on him. In fact, to him, the experience seemed to be continuous and about 20 minutes in length - but - his friends said that hours passed before the Ufo segment of the experience with Mr. Bledsoe.
Let, THS back up a bit to tell the story in more of an ontological viewpoint. It seems that Mr. Bledsoe was fishing with his buddies and went up a hillside by himself for a short walk. His buddies confirm that he went up the hillside. But, after hours - they literally went looking for him in the truck - seeing nothing - and eventually returned to the river.
They then heard and saw Mr. Bledsoe coming from the same area - yelling excitedly for them to come up the hill to see lights/orbs in the sky. And, indeed, they not only see 3 lights - they basically see them `land’ near the river (THS believes on the other side of a hill or of the river - it wasn’t next to them). Mr. Bledsoe recounts the same experience.
Generally, what all the men describe is what is occasionally seen during events of high strangeness or Ufo’s — glowing floating orbs several feet in diameter (orangish is color). And, while THS can’t remember who in the video said it — the orbs were also seen to be even the size of a school-bus.
The reaction you ask? The men dropped their fishing poles in place and hightailed it for the truck to leave. Scarcely speaking of the incident. But, the high strangeness had hardly begun for Mr. Bledsoe as just after getting home his dogs went wild outside — barking insanely. So, of course, Mr. Bledsoe followed them into the woods - only to find himself about 4 feet from a four foot translucent `entity’ with red glowing eyes. (Mr. Bledsoe’s son, one of the other four men, also had an `entity’ experience at the riverbank (only he did) that was a small creature. The MUFON investigators seemed less than impressed IMO.)
But, the story hardly ends there - later, Mr. Bledsoe is hypnotized and as we mentioned earlier - given a lie detector test too. Additionally, a psychiatrist also evaluates him via interview and written test. And, overall, the session with the psychiatrist went well - he was not insane and had no major personality problems.
Then came the session of hypnosis. The main reason Mr. Bledsoe was hypnotized was because of the `missing time’ element of his experience (of which he remembered nothing consciously - the whole experience to him was 20 minutes - other than his home experience). And, the hypnotic session certainly didn’t disappoint — almost immediately Mr. Bledsoe recounted a fairly typical alien abduction scenario of a human being held against its will.
However, these aliens were quite tall, over 7 feet, and told Mr. Bledsoe that they were not going to hurt him and that they were his `guardians’ . Also, during hypnosis, Mr Bledsoe answered the hypnotist question about the `entity’ in the woods near his house — the entity was `children’ of the aliens let out to play.
Now, just a few words about the overall circumstances about Mr. Bledsoe before the lie detector results. It seems that Mr. Bledsoe, like many Americans, was caught up in the housing bubble as a contractor — had been facing severe money problems and even became known in the community in a negative way because of his financial problems.
Without question, Mr. Bledsoe was not in a position to desire extra attention from the community - especially with a Ufo story - of which he doesn’t profit (perhaps — he may go on the speaking circuit). Additionally, his fishing buddies have no incentive to `back-up’ the missing time element of his story or to confirm the Orbs visitation.
Ok, the results of the lie-detector test. He failed. Especially on confirming the `entities’ (something that he said that in his own mind he can’t believe it sometimes).
So, what is to be made of such incredible high strangeness? Why would Mr. Bledsoe be selected to experience this? Who knows, but, THS would like to indulge you in a little thought.
First, perhaps obviously, the `missing time’ element of Mr. Bledsoe’s experience started shortly after the beginning of his walk up the hill and the mutual `Orb/Ufo’ experience of all the men was at `the end’ of Mr. Bledsoe’s experience. Therefore, the qualitative mystery is Mr. Bledsoe’s missing time portion of his experience and why it happened to him - right then, right there.
(Ok, get the Tin-foil Hats out as what you are about to read is `a little out there’.) But, before THS gets into details - recently Bruce Densing on his blog spoke about the why `aliens’ would `want-or- need’ humans — which spurred our thoughts here at THS about the four `centers’ that Ouspensky talked about - instinctive, motion, intellectual, and emotional - and how the emotional center was the `fastest’ and hardest to attain control (hence the intellectual center is unable to stop emotional actions or outbursts). Anyways, it seems that Mr. Bledsoe had, because of his extreme business anguish - probably — an incredible build up of emotional energy (especially compared to the peaceful setting). Could it be possible that some entities - lacking - or craving - this emotional energy or experience - came a calling - so to speak? (Could the missing hours be the time it takes to drain that energy into the other state of existence?)
If we take that leap of faith - that at least some of the aliens/entities are here for our emotional energy (and not just our reproductive systems) - it might allow for a more `subjective’ definition of an alien encounter.
THS would also like to suggest that the `objective’ portion of the event shared with the other men - could have been Mr. Bledsoe’s perceptions alone (that could indeed be seen by others — this would be similar to the KY man that Mufon researched in 2008, and THS has blogged about, that seemed to be able to produce orbs for all to see). Perceptions that produced actual temporal events of light/orbs/entities. It’s as if the orbs are dancing after being filled with human emotional energy.
All of which points out the multi-faceted aspect of the `unknown of high strangeness’ and intelligent entities in particular. It seems that on Earth we have what can best be described as a spectrum of entities - beginning with aliens that travel in `hard ships’ (not that humans or a few governments don’t have hard ships by now) to `real timeless entities’ that may not need any `craft-ship’ at all to interact with humans.
Not only that, it seems likely that `creatures’ of an in-between nature of these two extremes also exist. Thanks for reading - bookmark our site.

Rick…great write up on this important story. I would like to see some followup by MUFON. Lon
